My character is currently level 76 in Atlantica Online and I'm in the middle of rebuilding my formation. When I turned 70 and became eligible to use the Prophet mercenary, I elected to change my build from a melee-heavy formation to a more flexible one by replacing my 2 Swordsmen and 2 Spearmen for some range/DOT/AOE options with a Witch, Archer, Artilleryman, and the Prophet. At first, this move doesn't make much sense as much of the Prophet's value is being able to buff and heal melee units with their passive Concentrate skill. But I'm counting on this skill to bolster my weaker tanks on the front line.
Joining the Beast Tamer up front to take the place of the Swordsmen are my Exorcist and my Axe main. It remains to be seen if my main will continue to be up front as he's still a bit squishy at this level without any accessories like an armored mount to increase his survivability. I can't wait to level these new mercs up to take them into Free League. My FL ranking took a dive from 10 to 11 as I've been concentrating on PVE to catch these guys up to speed. Depending on how this formation works out for me, I might swap a Swordsman back in to replace either the Archer or, more likely, the Prophet.

Leveling Guide 1-15
My favorite part of Atlantica Online is the strategy involved in the combat. As I told Ten Ton Hammer readers in my Atlantica review, most games drop players into hundreds of hours of Whack-a-Mole, but the moles whack back in Atlantica. To this day, I see a new player asking for help with the early quests in Peer chat because they are not used to games that require thought. In particular, I see requests for help with the Hell Scout, Mutated Trees, and Hellish Fairy. These are all encounters players experience before level 15, and that so many gamers have trouble with them is a testament to the thought required to succeed at Atlantica.
Always looking out for the little guy, Ten Ton Hammer has asked me to compile a level 1-15 guide that will help new players get through the tough early battles in Atlantica. Follow my guide, and you'll be able to take on all of the foes that make the average gamer stumble, and you'll reach level 15 with a decent sense of how to survive the more difficult tasks to come.
Mercenary Basics
Start by talking to Lea, the first of three sisters who guide you through the tutorial quests. Lea wants you to recruit two mercenaries to join your hero.
After you talk to Lea, head over to the Mercenary Manager. Don't take this choice lightly. These recruits will be with you for a while. Here are some suggestions:
* If your hero is a Cannon, Rifle, Bow, or Staff...choose at least one spearman or swordsman for the front row.
* If your hero is a Sword, Spear, or Axe...choose at least one gunner or archer for the back row.
* Consider having at least one archer no matter what else you have. Their Silence spell will be a big help against Hellish Fairy in a few levels. Having two archers will allow you to keep the silence spell going on a target each round, greatly reducing the damage Hellish Fairy can cause to your whole squad via AoE spells.
* Click on My Info and then Formation from the top menu bar. You can rearrange your units here. Later on, you'll get a quest that tells you to do this, but why not do it now? Put ranged fighters in the back two rows and stick melee fighters in front of them for protection.
Return to Lea when you have recruited two mercenaries. She'll give you 500 gold and ask you to go see her sister, Ellesian. Just head over to the glowing blue tile, indicated by a doorway symbol on the mini-map.
First Battle
Ellesian wants to teach you how to fight. She asks you to defeat three Rabeil. The monsters won't really fight back, so you can concentrate on the battle tutorial. You'll need to follow all seven steps to complete that part of the tutorial, or it will keep popping up in each new battle at the step where you left off. Be patient as you adjust to the battle timer. You may miss a few turns while reading the instructions, and you may find yourself needing to fight more Rabeil after you have your three kills to complete all seven steps. When you return to Ellesian, she'll reward you with some 500 gold and a Spirit Weapon Box.
Arm Yourself
Ellesian next teaches you how to get equipment from boxes like the one she just gave you. Simply right-click the box and a randomly-generated weapon will pop out. Equip it to complete the quest by right-clicking on it from the inventory of the character it fits. You'll get 500 gold, Life Potion (Low) x5, and 50XP, enough to reach level 2. Now Ellesian will send you to see the final sister, Lilith.
The Second Battle
Lilith commands you to bring her three pieces of memory from the Rabalis and Rablus nearby. It is important to pay attention to the two types of enemies here. They share the same graphics with different colors, and they behave a little differently. It's an important lesson that will mean more and more as you progress as most monsters come in two flavors. Delivering the quest items nets you 1000 gold.
The Third Mercenary
Now Lilith wants you to recruit a third mercenary to bring your squad total to four. My suggestion here is to make sure you have at least two front line characters. Your squad will be taking a lot of damage in the upcoming fights, and having only one frontline character will get you in a lot of trouble very fast. Return to Lilith for 500 gold.
Select Location
Lilith explains that you are about to awake from your dream and must select the land where you want to wake up. Your choices are four cities in Japan or North and South Korea: Hanyang, Pusan, Sapporo, and Harbin. Your selection does not matter as your next quests will be largely the same with different NPC names. I prefer the Japanese architecture and most often start in Sapporo. For this guide, I chose Pusan.

Atlantica Online Leveling for the Lazy Gamer Part 2

Last time the guide was focused on my Atlantica Online main character and had it leveled 1-30 in just around 4 hours using the Golden Tusks. If you have not read my previous blog, please read it so you can have a better understanding of this guide.
This blog will give you some tips on leveling the entire party the Lazy Gamer way. On part one, you probably got worried that your entire party was left to level 2-3 while your main character rocketed to level 30. Well, stop worrying. By the time your main character hits level 40, your other Atlantica Online mercenaries will be level 38. The level difference will narrow down as they reach level 50.
At level 50, the first 6 mercenaries are level 49; the 7th mercenary is level 43 and the final mercenary which is acquired at level 50 is of course level 1.
Laziness has its price. Like my other guide, this leveling process is easy but expensive and does not require much concentration, in other words BORING. It has a lot of advantages though like you need to be in game just for 10 seconds every 10 or so minutes; you can do it while you are watching TV, cooking, dual/multi-boxing or playing other games. Or like in my current situation today, you can do it while working. :)
Another advantage is that you don't have to buy gears for your character until later since you won't be fighting any monsters at all. This saves you gold since the leveling process is already expensive.
Enough of my ramblings and let's get on with it. First you need gold. Not WOW gold or EQ gold. We need Atlantica Online gold. You can buy it somewhere out there or beg from other players or if you have a high level toon, get it from that. Make sure you have at least 1 million so you can at least last for several hours.
The way to gain the XP is by "Giving Gifts to Beginners". In this guide, I am going to call it DONATE. You do this by clicking on the Community menu and then select Beginners. Then click on the Give a Gift and enter the amount of gold or equipment you can want to donate.
Once you click the confirmation button YES, you will receive a message that all your mercenaries gain XXX amount of experience depending on the value of your donation. In my case, I got 4200 XP for donating 21,000 gold. Repeat the process once you have 100% WILL. Sounds easy enough? I certainly hope so. If not go back and read again until you get it.
Below are some tips on how to donate efficiently.
I am also kind enough to provide the chart below to give you folks some idea on how long will it take you to level using this method. I know I am lazy on leveling but I'm not lazy entertaining you and attending to your needs:).
Keep in mind too that the chart is for Class-D mercenaries. Better mercenaries needs more XP per level so avoid upgrading your mercenaries if you don't plan on doing quests/grinding yet.
If the Golden Tusk method is painfully boring, you can call this process tormentingly boring. I know it is not easy to check your WILL every 10 minutes since I experience it first hand. You can minimize the torment by using alarm clock or doing something else while waiting.
Take note too that at level 83 you will need around 9 million Atlantica gold and will take you are 24 hours just to get to level 84. It will take a big commitment and patience to do it. My advise though that this method is best used until level 50. After that start playing the game.
If you take into consideration, this guide beats those commercialize powerleveling services out there that continually spam us in game. Let me give you some insight.
* Spammer Website Power Leveling 1-40; Price $40; Duration: 3 days
* Lazy Gamer Guide Power Leveling 1-40; Price around 6 million gold; Duration: 28.4 hours
Before I end the blog, I like you to know that I need some info on Max XP per donate for level 50 and above.
If you have the willingness to endure this, it is worthwhile. But if you don't then I advise you to play the game as it is supposed to be played which is by questing and killing monsters to gain experience and level.

- The donation will go to random newbies.
- You can only donate if you have 100% WILL or every 10 minutes.

LEVELING 1-30 in less than 4 hours.
Leveling up to level 120 in Atlantica Online is not an easy feat. Up to this current date, there is no one yet who reached the max level. When my main character in Argos had reached level 83, I decided to create another account and level it at my own leisure and without much work. Luckily I have a second computer so I can play my main account and level my other account painlessly.
The leveling method I use though is easy but expensive. It's not the only way to level a toon in Atlantica though but it is the most practical for me. I will need a lot of gold and my main character even at that level can barely afford to have decent gears so it cannot twink my new account.
To cut it short, I decided to buy gold which is cheap. You can buy yours at any website out there but I bought mine from a reliable source and will let you know about the site upon request. It is convenient for me since they are US based and have real US business address and contact number.
Let's get on with the method. First you need around 5 million gold.
I created my new character which is a staff class.
Finish the tutorial and select a starting area. I selected Sapporo since I am at home there. Be sure you are level 3 so you can access the market place before running towards the nearest town. If you are not level 3, go get some more XP. The fastest way to do it is to let your main character do the killing blow during combat. As you can see in the picture below, I have 3 more mercenaries with me.
Now I am in the town of Sapporo and picked up my gold in the mail. Once you are in town, click on the TOWN icon and select MARKET. As you can see below, I searched for the "golden tusk". I am lucky that they are cheap on this server. On other servers they go as high as 70,000 gold each so the initial 5 million gold might not be enough.
I initially purchased 120 Golden Tusk but we need around 200 to make it to level 30. After using the Golden Tusk 10 times, I am already level 13. It took me around 10 minutes to do it.
Below are some facts about this particular leveling guide.
* This is not the only way to level in Atlantica Online.
* Level 1-30 needs around 199,869 XP.
* You going to reach level 30 in around 200+ minutes or less than 4 hours.
* We need around 200 Golden Tusk.
* One (1) golden tusk gives 1,000 XP.
* You can use a golden tusk by right clicking it.
* Make sure that your main character is the one using the Golden Tusk.
* You can only use a golden tusk if you have 10% WILL.
* You can have 1 WILL every 6 seconds or 10 WILL in one minute.
As you can see below, I reached level 30. I have 6 additional mercenaries. I have a heavy Spearman build but this particular selection is for another blog. I see most gold farmers using Spearman builds so I will give you insights about that at a later date.
If you haven't noticed yet, all your other mercs are lowbies and your main character is the only one that reached level 30. Don't worry about that though, I'm gonna show you how to level them LAZILY in my next blog.

I did level my other toon while waiting in PvP Free League queue. I had an alarm clock set to ring every 10 minutes :).
